Volvo Car USA reports sales of 10,723 cars in May

(MAHWAH, NJ) June 5, 2023 – Volvo Car USA reports sales of 10,723 cars in May, up 14.4 percent compared to the same period last year. The sale of Recharge models – those with a plug-in hybrid or fully electric powertrain – accounted for 28.3 percent of overall sales in the market.

 

The Volvo XC60 was the top selling model in the U.S. during the month, with sales of 3,717 cars, followed by the XC90, with total sales at 3,365 cars, and the XC40 at 2,115 cars. Sales of fully electric vehicles grew 66 percent over the same period last year, representing 12.5 percent of all sales in the country.

 

Canada sales reached 1,037 cars in May, up 5.1 percent over the same month last year, with Recharge models taking a 30.9 percent share. The U.S. and Canada commercial region sold 11,760 cars, up 10.5 percent compared with the same month last year.
