Volvo Cars has been awarded the Environmental Prize for 2005 by the Italian automotive magazine Quattroruote. The reasons behind the decision are the 3CC, the V8 in the XC90 and the company’s total commitment to environmental work.
Quattroruote is Italy’s leading automotive magazine. In a survey, 58,000 of its readers were invited to cast their votes from among 39 manufacturers present on the Italian market, which of these they considered to be the best based on 13 topic items that define the brand image.
Volvo Car Corporation was ranked as No. 1 from both the safety and the environmental perspectives. The Concept Car 3CC which promotes sustainable mobility was given as one of the reasons. The fact that the V8 engine in theXC90 meets the American exhaust emission standards according to the ULEV 2 program and that Volvo has a continual global commitment to the environment also contributed to the nomination for the award.
“This award means that the position of the Volvo brand is strengthened in Italy,” says Andrea Fornasero, Communications Director at Volvo Auto Italia.
